Karen's Story
Karen Patterson was born on July 16, 1963, in Thompson, Manitoba. She shared over 33 beautiful years with her beloved partner and husband, Andy. Together, they built a loving family, cherished countless memories, and faced life's adventures hand in hand. Karen's legacy lives on through her devoted husband, Andy, and their two wonderful daughters, Tegan and Brie. She was also the proud grandmother of Silas, who brought immense joy to her life.
Karen had a passion for cooking, entertaining, and sharing with family and friends. She loved to travel, and explore the great outdoors, always staying active and adventurous. Her positive, bright, energetic, and caring personality made her an amazing mother and wife. Karen's empathetic nature meant she always knew exactly what someone needed in any moment, whether it was a listening shoulder or a push to help them move forward. She handled herself with grace and always looked amazing. Her smile would light up a room, filling it with love and warmth.
Along with her interest in cooking, Karen loved to host and bring people together to enjoy good food and good company. The social web she weaved provided her family with opportunities in many different areas of life and the world. Her love for art made vacations fun, as she loved visiting markets and shops, always looking for unique pieces of décor and jewelry, and never one to pass down a good deal.
Karen dedicated immense effort to her career in the insurance industry, where being a project manager became her life mission. The skills she honed at work seamlessly translated into her personal life, ensuring smooth sailing for everyone around her. Recently retired from her role as a Program Director, Karen committed over 26 years to the 9-5 world (… more like 7-6). She was a project manager through and through, meticulously planning every detail. At any given moment, she knew exactly who was responsible for each task and when it needed to be completed, ensuring the success of any gathering or event.
On August 13, 2023, the world was shattered. In a tremendous turn of events, Karen passed away unexpectedly, leaving everyone questioning why her. In the wake of this profound loss, Andy, Tegan, and Brie have leaned on each other, providing support and strength to navigate this difficult time. Together, they are working towards the better life Karen always envisioned for them.
Karen's love, kindness, and spirit will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her. Through KP Projects, her positive impact continues to be felt by many.
